La Secretaría de Cumbres de las Américas le recuerda que el Foro Virtual sobre el tema “Promover la Seguridad Energética”, estará abierto desde  el 27 de octubre hasta el 14 de noviembre de 2008, a través de la nueva Plataforma Virtual de Cumbres de las Américas.

La PV de Cumbres es una herramienta en línea que ha sido diseñada para facilitar la comunicación permanente con actores sociales, contribuyendo así a un proceso de Cumbres más participativo a través del uso de las Tecnologías de la Información y la Comunicación (TIC).

Al participar activamente en los foros virtuales, como usuario registrado de la PV de Cumbres, usted tendrá la oportunidad de contribuir en el proceso de más alto nivel político de nuestro Hemisferio. Al concluir cada foro, la Secretaría de Cumbres de las Américas producirá un informe y lo canalizará para la consideración de los gobiernos firmantes, quienes en este momento están negociando el Proyecto de Declaración que será firmada por los Jefes de Estado y de Gobierno de los 34 Estados miembros de la OEA durante la Quinta Cumbre de las Américas (Puerto España, Trinidad y Tobago, del 17 al 19 de abril de 2009).

Si usted ya está registrado en la PV de Cumbres, simplemente ingrese aquí a la Plataforma para participar en cualquiera de los foros. Lo invitamos a participar en el foro inicial “Introducción al Proceso de las Cumbres de las Américas”, al que podrá acceder de manera permanente para obtener información y postular comentarios y preguntas sobre el Proceso de Cumbres y sobre cómo participar.

Después del 27 de octubre, todos los usuarios registrados podrán acceder y participar en la consulta sobre el tema “Promover la Seguridad Energética” y sus principales subtemas: sistemas sostenibles de energía, y cooperación y coordinación internacional para promover seguridad energética e incrementar la conciencia pública.

REMINDER from the Summits Secretariat - virtual forum on Energy Security

The Summits of the Americas Secretariat would like to take this opportunity to remind you that the Virtual Forum on the theme “Promoting Energy Security” is open from  October 27th, until November 4th, 2008, through the Summits of the Americas Virtual Platform (SVP).

The SVP is an on-line tool designed to facilitate on-going communication with social actors, thus contributing to making the Summits of the Americas Process more participatory through the use of Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs).

By actively participating in the virtual thematic fora, you as an SVP registered user will have an opportunity to contribute to the highest level political process in the our Hemisphere. After each forum, the Summits of the Americas Secretariat will produce a report and channel it for the consideration of the signatory countries, which are currently negotiating the Draft Declaration that will be signed by the Heads of State and Government of the 34 OAS member States during the Fifth Summit of the Americas (Port of Spain, Trinidad & Tobago, April 17-19, 2009).

If you are already registered in the SVP, simply login to the Platform in order to participate in any of these fora. We encourage you to participate the initial forum “Introduction to the Summits of the Americas Process”, which may be accessed at any time, in order to obtain information and post your comments and questions on the Summits Process and how to participate in it.

Beginning October 27th all registered participants will be able to access and participate in the consultation on “Promoting Energy Security” and its main sub-themes: sustainable energy systems and international cooperation and coordination to promote energy security & increase public awareness.
