La Secretaría de Cumbres de las Américas se complace en compartir con usted el informe final del Foro Virtual sobre el tema “Promoviendo la prosperidad humana”, según está incluido en el Proyecto de Declaración de Compromiso de Puerto España. Este foro se llevó a cabo del 1 al 10 de octubre de 2008, a través de la nueva Plataforma Virtual de Cumbres de las Américas.

Nos complace anunciar que estos documentos también serán remitidos para la consideración de los representantes de la sociedad civil que participarán en una serie de ‘foros presenciales’ (Subregionales, Temáticos y uno Regional) que están siendo organizados de manera conjunta por la Secretaría de Cumbres de las Américas y el Departamento de Asuntos Internacionales de la Secretaría de Relaciones Externas de la OEA. La información con respecto a las fechas y sedes de estas reuniones se distribuirá una vez que se encuentren disponibles.

Los invitamos a participar activamente en el próximo foro temático virtual sobre “Seguridad Energética” (párrafos 30-38 del Proyecto de Declaración), que se realizará del 27 de octubre al 4 de noviembre de 2008.

Las opiniones de las organizaciones de la sociedad civil y otros actores sociales sobre los temas de la Quinta Cumbre son muy valiosos en este Proceso, por lo que aprovechamos esta oportunidad para agradecer su interés y participación!

Summits Secretariat: Final Report of the Virtual Forum on Human Prosperity

The Summits of the Americas Secretariat is pleased to share with you the final report of the Virtual Forum on the theme “Promoting Human Prosperity”, as it relates to the Draft Declaration of Commitment of Port of Spain. The forum was held from October 1st to 10th, 2008, through the Summits of the Americas Virtual Platform (SVP).

We are pleased to inform that these documents will also be submitted for the consideration of civil society representatives participating in a series of ‘face-to-face fora’ (Sub Regional, Regional and Thematic) that are being organized jointly by the OAS Summits of the Americas Secretariat and the Department of International Affairs, Secretariat for External Relations. More information regarding the dates and venues of these meetings will be disseminated once it becomes available.

We encourage your active participation in the next thematic virtual forum on “Energy Security” (paragraphs 30-38 of the Draft Declaration), which will be held from October 27 to November 4, 2008.
